I am about to embark on a journey that I’m not even aware of. There is so much that my subconscious is sending through my body and I wish I could tap into it. I’m left only feeling the energy without the knowledge.

I know there is much in the world to see and do. Is it more about what you’re allowing yourself to see, instead of where you go? I am aware that things are different depending on your location, however, could it also be about how wide your scope of vision is? You may be in the most luxurious of places and you would not even know it if you don’t open your eyes.

i am here at a double tree hotel in richmond. my mom has a work workshop (he he he, that’s funny to me) and i’m stuck here until 2:30. 3 more hours to go! my mom asked the man at the front desk if i could have a guest key to come in and out (actually, so i could chill at the pool! what a bad time to not bring in my bathing suit! drat!). the man was so nice to me, said “of course!” and also offered me one of their signature cookies. it was toasty and warm in the bag.

let me tell you.

that cookie was amazing. a chocolate chip, walnutty, oatmealy, crispy outside and melty inside goodness that literally made my mouth spread out all over the place. it was the best cookie. not only that, but after hanging out in perfect warm sun and cool breeze (jonsi’s “go” album in the headphones, of course) i moved to this fence, and beyond it was the most beautiful span of grass and dandelions in the whole world. in the center of it was a tall droopy tree that was the home to many mockingbirds, robins, crows, sparrows, and bluebirds. how do i know this? i watched them fly across, over my head, around me and walking on the grass.

there was also a dragonfly couple that danced around, bumblebees busy pollenating, a monarch butterfly that almost gave me a butterfly kiss (he he he) and the little white butterflies all coexisting in this beautiful piece of bliss.

it only solidified my belief in having a small, natural home in a rugged and earthy setting. man i really love nature. why must we hurt her so?

i am here in chesapeake. it’s an interesting feeling to be here again. my mom’s house is so nice– well kept, beautifully furnished, and very open. i feel like i am staying at a very nice inn. but my mom and stepdad happen to own the place, haha. needless to say, i am excited for what this vacation will bring; maybe some new experiences, or perspective on old ones. starting tomorrow i will be in washington dc for 5 days. it should be a good time! i don’t happen to enjoy the area, but the more traveling i can do the better.

the biggest thing i want to get out of this trip is a sense of myself. i’ve kind of lost who i am and what i stand for since i started at cornish. now that i recognize it, i am so sure in my decision to leave the school. i’m hoping this time away can reveal what’s needing to be inspected and edited. but i’m like that– a very cleansing type of person. every few months i have to go through what i own and put it in a giveaway bag.

yeah. i tend to think im a writer at heart, but maybe it’s not that i am a writer.

maybe it is that i am a channel to expression.
